Kicker Ranking

Class of 2016

6th

Reed is a very talented kicker who showed impressive ability at multiple Kohl's events. He won the FG contest at the UC Challenge hitting from 60 off the ground with no wind. Reed gets great lift and has clean rotation on his FG's. He kicks with a lot of confidence and is going to be a great one. He has good tempo and control on his KO's as well. Reed's KO are impressive but to move up in the rankings he needs to make a little improvement on his KO's. Reed is always in the mix on FG and has a natural ability to focus.

I developed my ball striking ability playing soccer across the south as a military dependent.  I arrived at Prattville High School as a freshman and offered to kick for the 9th grade team.  One day the coach approached me and said I've got some good news and some bad news.  Bad news was I probably wasn't going to see much playing time as a receiver but the good news was the varsity coach saw my potential as a kicker and wanted me to train with Austin MacGinnis (now 2014 All SEC First Team kicker) to prep for my sophomore year.  MacGinnis really motivated me and encouraged me to join One-on-One Kicking to further develop my skills.  Since then I've had the opportunity to train with some of the best and that is what I have worked to be as well.  I take my job seriously and work year round developing.  In my sophomore I never had a touchback, but worked hard in the off season to hit 39 in my junior year.  I missed one PAT as a sophomore, but was perfect 65 for 65 in my junior year.  My field goal stats don't reflect my ability.  I finished in the finals of every Kohl's FG competition except one--won one at the UnderClassman Challege.  I'm a devoted Christian and give a nod to God on every kickoff because I know where I derive my strength.  I serve at least once a month teaching Sunday school for Kindergarten to 2nd Graders.  Finally, my academics are important to me.  I've maintained straight A's thus far taking honors, preAP, and AP classes with an ACT score of 32, top 2% in the nation.  My priorities are God, family, academics, and kicking, in that order with kicking taking priority occasionally.  My goal is to contribute significantly to a D1 program.
