Punter Ranking

Class of 2017

Grant recently attended the 2016 Texas Showcase and had a strong showing for himself. His field goals are at the D1 level. His punts were solid but his current strength is his ability to make kicks. Good poise in competition and a clean ball striker, Grant is a talented prospect. Josh most recently attended the 2015 National Scholarship Camp, he showed flashes of consistency and repeatability, but needs to continue to become more explosive to continue to move up in the rankings.

I’ve worked very hard on the field to be ranked as one of the nation's top kickers in the class of 2017 and I want to continue that path.  My kicking experience is more than just using my strong leg to kick a ball deep.  Along with exceptional distance, accuracy and consistency on field goals and extra points, I’ve successfully converted almost every type of onside kick and pooch kick required…on a team that struggles and in the toughest 6A district in Texas.  I also understand the importance of the kicking game, and special teams, during the entire 60 minutes.  Knowing that not every snap goes as planned, I’ve consistently shown that I make smart, quick decisions to help my team.

As a high school freshman, I played multiple positions on our freshman district championship football team (starting receiver and starting outside linebacker) and I played on the freshman basketball team.  Beginning this year (my sophomore year), I was asked to use my 10 years of soccer experience (ending on one of the nations’s top soccer teams) to be the starting varsity goalkeeper.

My goal is to play for a top 20 ranked D1 program that has a strong business school.  Although I’m not positive right now of what I want to study, I know that a good education is important.  Longterm, I would like to be an NFL kicker.  I know that each coach has many options when it comes to kids to recruit for their team and school.  I can’t speak for other kids out there, but I can tell you that I always want to earn the trust of my coaches, be coachable, improve every day with the right attitude, study hard, represent my school in a positive way and be a positive influence in the locker room.  Last, but certainly not least, my Christian faith is important to me.  I enjoy participating in church activities, hanging out with my church friends and going on mission trips.

Thank you for your time.  I would be extremely grateful to play college football.  Weather I get one scholarship offer, many, or none, I know that God’s plans are greater than mine.  I appreciate any coach reading this and I look forward to meeting, and visiting with, any school interested in recruiting me.
