I am a High School senior on the Alabama 5A State Championship Hartselle Tigers. I started kicking in the middle of my sophomore year and in the middle of the season. I started with the team on a Tuesday of week 4 of the season and kicked that Friday. Football for me started off as just something to do in the fall. That changed during my junior year as I found it to be a new found love. My previous focus had been HS Baseball and played into my junior year. Baseball was fun but Football Kicking was so much more fun.
I am self taught kicker and need training in both form and strength in order to compete full at the next level. I never thought about kicking past high school until I realized I would miss it after the season was coming to an end.
I practiced hard for my senior year and improved into a competitive kicker and one of the assets that allowed Hartselle to win its first ever State Championship in football. My team members worked hard to put me in FG range 10 times. I made 9. I Missed a 48 yarder by about a foot. The longest FG of the Playoffs was a47 yard in the State Game with 1:40 left in the 4th quarter to take the lead. That kick was named the "The Play of the Game" for the state championship game. I also kicked 3 FGs (32, 38, 41 yards) in the Semi-Finals for Hartselle to win 16-14. In Round 2 of the playoffs I kicked FGs (19 & 43 yards). The 19 yarder with 4 seconds left in the game. As a whole I went 22 for 23 on all my kicking in the 5 games of the state playoffs.
The longest kick of the season was a miss by just a single inch. I attempted a 52 yarder on 9/16/2011 that hit the right upright just a few feet from the top. It bounced back into the field. That kick would have easily gone 65 yards. Yet a miss is a miss.
I was unaware that the transition to kicking off the ground would be a critical requirement. I learned about the tee situation towards the end of the regular season and knew my team depended on me so I decided to not make any changes then. As soon as the State Championship game was over (12/1/11), I moved to kicking off a college tee for Kick offs and the ground for FG/PAT. It took me a couple of hours but I didn’t loose too much distance or accuracy but to be honest the transition is still a work in progress. New video will be available once the weather clears here in North Alabama and I can get back to kicking outside.
I am motivated, ready and willing to kick at the next level. I work hard and intend to get a good education wherever I decide to go.

William attended the Texas Showcase Camp in Dec of 2012 and showed college level ability, the ball did jump of his foot, technically he could clean up and it would help him, his is a solid combo athlete who can compete in both kicking and punting in the years to come
