2011 Kickers National Rating System

12/31/11 - This is the 3rd of 3 rankings Kohl's will do this year. We only evaluate campers that we have personally seen at a Kohl's camp. In order to assure yourself a ranking you must attend a Kohl's Showcase camp or the Scholarship camp. When ranking we ask the question, "If there was a college game today, is this athlete ready to help a college team win?". We look at the camp charts and take into account the different conditions at each camp. We also look strongly at how an athlete performs in drill work when they know they are being evaluated and graded. We see how they handle pressure and react in the camp competitions. We see certain athletes multiple times a year and try to grade them on their average performance. RANKINGS NOTE: Kohl's sees more athletes than anyone else in America at our 105 events. There may be over 200 Kohl's high school seniors playing college football next season. There are many good prospects at the 4.0 and 4.5 star levels that will start in college in the future.

1 Heidari, Andre 190 5' 11" Andre is a powerful and refined kicker. He attended a small training camp so it was hard to judge how good he was until he attended the National Scholarship Camp. He was clearly the best FG kicker at camp (est. roughly 350 campers) and one of the best at KO's. Andre is extremely mentally tough. He is great on FG off the ground, able to focus, has a fast leg, hits consistent spirals as a punter, Andre was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game on ESPN by Kohl's staff. CA USC
2 Bertolet, Taylor 165 5' 9" Has the talent to compete with anyone in the nation, FG range is as good as anyone in the 2011 class, gets great height on his FG, decent college potential as a punter, has gotten better on FG accuracy, Strongest KO leg in the nation, huge KO's 4.2's that go over 80, competitive, was selected by Kohl's to play in the Under Armour All-American game on ESPN. 3 Bondi, Mauro 190 6' 1" Mauro is a D1 scholarship kicker and punter. He is a very mature 6'1 190 lbs. athlete with tremendous leg speed. His hang-times have been clocked at over 5.0 seconds on punts and over 4.2 seconds on kick offs. His FG are solid, Overall, a true D1 scholarship type on KO, FG, and Punts. hand-to-toe times need to get faster on his punts FL Nebraska
4 Howell, Alexander 189 6' 4" Alex won the Underclassman Challenge in the FG portion. He also made 9-10 FG at the Southern Showcase Camp. Alex is a very smooth kicker off the ground. He uses his 6'4 body to create good leverage. His KO's are solid for his age level, his strength is his repeatable motion, very smooth and won the Under Classman Challenge, good pressure kicker, Punting has improved, would have finished higher at national camp had hand-to-toe times been faster SC Boston College
5 Zalewski, Taylor 195 6' 3" Taylor has become a complete kicker. Has improved greatly off the ground, steps are repeatable, big-time leg, averaged 4 seconds on his KO hang times, truly one of the best kickers in the nation, punting is improving but not at same level as his FG and KO, BCS level kicker IL Illinois*
6 Sade, Niklas 190 6' 2" Niklas was impressive at the Eastern Showcase camp in the FG competition by winning the camp wide competition (100 athletes at Camp). He then placed in the FG competition and did well in the KO competition at Kohl's Underclassman Challenge. Niklas has had a strong summer and is a D1 scholarship kicker. NC NC State
7 Sullivan, Daniel 180 5' 10" Daniel attended training camp in WA, he then attended the Western Showcase Camp and showed that he is a D1 kicker, hits one of the cleanest most pure FG of anyone in the 2011 class, KO's get great hang-time and should be able to contribute early in college, very impressive coordination WA Wyoming
8 Loftus, Connor 180 6' O" Big-time leg, great student, plays at a national power in hs, brother D1 kicker, can hit 70+, 4.0+ KO already, showed well on KO's at the Underclassman Challenge, had solid senior season for Servite HS in CA, punting has improved as well CA Penn
9 Christy, Kyle 180 6' 2" Kyle is a D1 K/P. His strength is his KO and punting potential. Stepped up and won punting competition at the Midwest Showcase, hit punt that had 5 seconds of hang time, KO's are explosive, he hit multiple KO's 70+ yards and 4.1+ hang, FG are getting better off the ground but still not at same level nationally as his KO and Punts IN Florida
10 Mueller, Alex 160 5' 10" Alex made 57 yard FG to win TX Showcase competition, missed from 62 wide, hit a clean ball all camp, showed that he like the big stage and performed very well on it, is one of the top 5 FG guys in the 2011 class, KO improvement will be a key for Alex TX Kansas
11 Johnson, Will 195 6' 3" Will competed at the Texas Showcase Camp in Dec. of 2010, he showed a D1 leg in both kicking and punting, He was solid on his FG off the ground, could clean them up slightly but the talent is there, his punting could really make progress in college, his mis-hits are still acceptable, lots of upside in both kicking and punting TX Texas State
12 Sharp, Zach 176 6' 2" Zach is a gamer, has won 2 camp FG competitions, needs to get better height on his FG and KO, can drive a ball 60+ on FG and out of the end zone on KO, punting is solid but right now not as good as his kicking TN Tennessee Tech
13 Hedlund, Chad 175 6' 1" Chad won the TX showcase KO competition, he gets great height on his FG off the ground, made 14 FG for his hs team, good overall athlete, D1 talent, smooth ball striker who has gotten better this spring, comes from a hs with good kicking tradition TX Wake Forest
14 Rasmussen, Michael 200 6' O" Strong athlete, super impressive KO's at Kohl's New Orleans training camp, may have talent to move up in the rankings, showed good rhythm and coordination off the ground on FG, punts had consistent hang-times that were college level. A D1 prospect! FL Penn
15 Lyons, Riley 175 5' 10" Riley is super explosive, KO's are good enough to start in SEC, FG charts are solid, struggled to show FG consistency in drill work, is unproven on FG off the ground, FG rhythm and consistency can improve, Punting leg swing is solid, drop is outside, has the leg to punt in college, huge upside GA Dartmouth
16 Wedel, Tyler 175 6' 1" Tyler is a competitive athlete who has gotten much better in less than 6 months of training. He has shown a D1 leg and an ability to repeat the motion. Does need to improve his height on FG and KO's. Is a good athlete who plays QB and should continue to get better. Focus should improve as he gets more experience. 17 Severs, Hayden 178 5' 7" Hayden has a great National Scholarship Camp. He has an explosive leg. Had a 4.3 hang-time a the Springfield, MO training camp. 18 Beckman, Michael 175 6' O" Michael is a pure ball striker who has showed well at multiple Kohl's events. He is a very good kicker off the ground and has shown the talent to play at a high level in college. He is college ready right now oon FG off the ground! IL Pitt*
19 Austin, Trever 175 5' 10" College ready FG kicker, an improved punter, won the punting competition at S. Showcase, has more of a kicker's body, consistently charts well, gets great FG height, handles pressure well, pure ball striker, good on KO's can hit 4.0 hang-times on 70 yard KO's, a D1 kicker NC Gardner Webb
20 Koehn, Marshall 175 6' 1" Marshall has a D1 leg, very impressive at winter camp, still has to show he can kick FG off the ground, KO potential is big-time, gets great height on his ball, motion is repeatable, stood out at winter training camp with 75 athletes in attendance, needs to prove he can handle pressure to move up IA Iowa*
21 Monday, William 185 6' 5" Great frame, needs to move drop inside slightly, can hit consistent 4.5-4.8 hang times on 45-50 yard punts. Was 1st team All-State punter at Georgia HS power.  Will finished #1 at the National Scholarship Camp 2 yrs. in a row, drove multiple 60 yard + punts in 2010, and also won the Southern Showcase Punting Competition. Will is a dominant k/p. Kicking has gotten better. GA Duke
22 Harvey, Tilghman 160 5' 9" Tilghman has an explosive leg that drives the ball as well as anyone. The ball jumps off his foot. He also won the FG competition at the Western Showcase camp. Tilghman finished in the top 4 on FG at the Underclassman Challenge and was clearly a top college prospect. He does have to transition to kicking FG off the ground, had great HS season on KO AZ Western Arizona College
23 Benvenuto, Christian 180 6' 2" Christian is an athletic kicker/punter he can do many things very well, his ball striking skills are solid and he is an athlete that can punt with both his right and left foot when he rolls out, his ko's are solid and he should be able to compete at the college level early in his career FL Georgia State
23 Hill, Michael 160 5' 8" Michael is an explosive lefty who showed very well at our Gainesville camp and during parts of the Midwest Showcase camp, he made 7 FG during the charting session, and KO well during phases of camp, had great National Scholarship Camp, he finished 2nd on FG and 35th on KO. 24 DiPaula, Anthony 220 6' 2" Anthony attended a small training camp but showed college potential. Anthony kept us updated weekly with his punting and kicking and showed great progress. He had a huge season where he consistently hit college level punts and KO's. NJ Rutgers
25 Schmadeke, Michael 170 5' 10" Explosive kicker, can hit 4.0 hang times on KO, had a great National Scholarship Camp by finishing 5th on FG and in the top 20 on KO's. He is worth offering a scholarship to kick. Hits a high ball off the ground. Did very well under pressure! IA Northern Iowa
26 Nowicki, Ryan 185 6' 1" Ryan made 7 FG at 2009 Southern Showcase Camp. He also kicked off well in the bad weather conditions, had some impressive KO's at winter training camp, needs to continue to improve FG off the ground, showed D1 leg strength at the National Scholarship Camp. 27 Lyon, Preston 170 5' 11" Preston plays for national power hs, has made pressure kicks at camp and in hs, won the KO competition and FG competition at the Western Showcase, has 55+ range off the ground on FG, competitive, should be in contention for D1 scholarships CA College of William & Mary
28 Long, Ty 175 6' 2" Ty made a 52 yard FG to win a competition at a Kohl's led camp and attended the Southern Showcase Camp in 2008. He has really improved as a combo k/p. Ty is a pure ball striker who has gotten stronger and looks like his frame can still add more strength in college. Had a real solid all around camp at Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He is one of the best combo k/p in the nation. GA UAB
29 Morgan, Johnathan "Lee" 165 6' 2" Lee has the talent to be a top 10 kicker. He made a 65 yard FG at a Kohl's training camp. He does need to work on his FG off the ground. His KO and FG at the National Scholarship camp were solid despite a minor injury. He has shown big-time potential and is someone to watch as the season goes on, also could develop into a very good punter based on camp charts FL UCF *
30 Meyer, Drew 170 6' 3" Drew is a kicker/punter with D1 athleticism, plays at a dominant HS program, needs to hit more consistently to let potential show, at times has looked like a top 10 national punter, I still feel that there is more potential ahead for Drew, had a solid National Scholarship camp on FG and KO, has been dominant punter this summer at multiple Kohl's events. 31 Smith, E 185 6' O" E is a powerful kicker and punter, his drop in punting is to inconsistent currently, his FG rhythm and KO rhythm are solid, ball jumps off his foot, has college leg strength, FG consistency is not as strong as KO's. 32 Selita, Kris 170 6' 1" Kris had a solid National Scholarship Camp. He finished 20th on KO and 22nd on FG. I feel he could do better on his KO's with an improvement in his stepping pattern. He may have the natural talent to move up in the rankings. Has a good frame to work with, D1 talent, drives punts very well, needs more hang on punts. MI Jacksonville State
33 Van Ginkel, Jake 180 6' O" Jake has had an impressive HS career, he hit 57 and 58 yard FG in same game. Jake is a very smooth athlete and made 9 of 10 FG at the Western Spring Showcase Camp in May of 2008. He did lack hang-time on his KO's. Have not seen Jake in awhile so he may be a better prospect than the last time we saw him. Jake is also a coordinated athlete who can punt well. CA Boise State
34 Adams, Keenan 180 5' 10" Keenan is solid k/p, has competed well at multiple events, showed an improvement in leg strength at last camp, hit 70+ kick-offs, handles pressure well, a college k/p, Keenan strength is that he is a "gamer" seems to rise up in competitions GA Colorado State
35 Tate, Tyler 160 6' 1" Tyler has improved since his Eastern Showcase performance last Dec. He is a very good athlete who does it all for his hs team, his KO's are very impressive, had great season for his hs team OH Bowling Green
36 Alvarez, Carlos 205 5' 8" Carlos is a strong kicker/punter who showed very well at the New Orleans training camp. He then finished top 30 in both FG and KO's at the National Scholarship Camp. He does need to work on kicking FG of the ground. The ball does jump off his foot and he can make 60 yard FG's off the block, punting potential is also present, had excellent senior season LA Louisiana Lafayette
37 Levin, Chad 160 5' 9" Chad is a good ball striker who showed very well at the TX and Midwest Showcase Camps, he gets great height on his FG and KO's, he has won multiple Kohl's training camps this summer, he is a D1 FG kicker, very refined off the ground, college ready FG kicker, KO's have become solid, strength is FG and his ability to focus under pressure AR University of Tulsa*
38 Kaser, Drew 195 6' 3" Drew had a solid Eastern Showcase camp and Underclassman Challenge.  Drew is technically solid. 39 Petro, Alec 160 5' 11" Alec had a great training camp in Ohio and finished 17th on KO and 11th on FG at the National Scholarship camp. 40 Felix, Ryan 200 6' 3" Ryan earned his status by kicking well at multiple events. His Field goal height off the ground is very solid. His kick off hang times are consistently over 4 seconds, one of the top talents in the 2011 class, has chosen to play soccer instead of football, if he focuses on kicking he could be special CA Loyola Marymount (soccer scholarship)
41 Southerland, Devin 160 5' 11" Devin is a "gamer" does well under pressure, can perform on FG at D1 level, KO's and punts are not at the same level as his FG, he is a guy who will get it done between the lines, I like his attitude and ability to focus, needs to continue to work on becoming more explosive but already kicking well off the ground SC Coastal Carolina

63 Fritschle, Tanner 185 6' 2" Tanner is a tough athlete who played his SR season with a separated shoulder, he still needs work on his ball striking on FG's, his leg strength has improved since last year, has good college potential as kicker and punter, hit some huge punts at Texas Showcase, his handling times on punts are slow currently, had big HS season with 70 plus touchbacks. 65 Parent, Oleg 155 5' 11" Oleg has a 5 star leg. The ball jumps off his foot both as a punter and a kicker. His ability to create leg speed is solid. 66 Micci, Joe 182 6' O" Joe was invited to compete at the National Schlolarship Camp, he is a very good hs kicker who has the talent to play in college, attended the Midwestern Showcase Camp in Dec. 2010, good kicker/punter combo, charted well, showed college talent in drill work phase of camp IL
67 Buizer, Sean 175 5' 11" Sean is an athlete with a good athletic frame. He will get a lot of touchbacks on KO in HS. His FG are solid but not special. He does have potential to move up both as a kicker and punter if his consistency improves. AZ
