2011 Punters National Rating System

12/31/11 - This is the 3rd of 3 rankings Kohl's will do this year. We only evaluate campers that we have personally seen at a Kohl's camp. In order to assure yourself a ranking you must attend a Kohl's Showcase camp or the Scholarship camp. When ranking we ask the question, "If there was a college game today, is this athlete ready to help a college team win?". We look at the camp charts and take into account the different conditions at each camp. We also look strongly at how an athlete performs in drill work when they know they are being evaluated and graded. We see how they handle pressure and react in the camp competitions. We see certain athletes multiple times a year and try to grade them on their average performance. RANKINGS NOTE: Kohl's sees more athletes than anyone else in America at our 105 events. There may be over 200 Kohl's high school seniors playing college football next season. There are many good prospects at the 4.0 and 4.5 star levels that will start in college in the future.

2 Albarado, Kris 190 6' O" Won Underclassman Challenge in Orlando, Hit great punts under pressure and was by far the most consistent and best performer at the Kohl's National Underclassman Challenge in Orlando. Has hit 5.0 hang-times at Kohl's training camps.  Explosive and powerful, had another great showing at National Scholarship Camp LA USC
3 Christy, Kyle 180 6' 2" Kyle is a D1 K/P. His strength is his KO and punting potential. Stepped up and won punting competition at the Midwest Showcase, hit punt that had 5 seconds of hang time, KO's are explosive, he hit multiple KO's 70+ yards and 4.1+ hang, FG are getting better off the ground but still not at same level nationally as his KO and Punts IN Florida
4 Kaser, Drew 195 6' 3" Drew had a solid Eastern Showcase camp and Underclassman Challenge.  Drew is technically solid. Catches the ball close to his body,  Hang-times are better than most current D1 starters, Truely a D1 punter, ball explodes off his foot, special leg speed when he connects, solid KO guy as well, strong fast leg, performs well when it counts OH Texas A&M
5 Roth, Spencer 210 6' 6" Spencer is a D1 punter, he had a great couple of Kohl's camps. His frame is very impressive and has a solid repeatable punting motion, his hands have gotten better, has the look of an NFL punter, won punting competition at the Southern Showcase Camp in Dec 2010, has great upside TN Baylor
6 Venham, Grant 205 6' 3" Large athletic punter, Showed very well at the National Scholarship Camp in 2009.  He has made the transition to the 1 handed drop.  This should help him once he has time this spring to train.  Grant has athletic tools to be one of the best in his class.  He has greatly improved over the past year, His hands are athletic and he has become a smooth punter, had 5.15 hang-time in a game, multiple punts over 4.6 in games, D1 Punter OH Ohio
7 Bondi, Mauro 190 6' 1" Mauro is a D1 scholarship kicker and punter. He is a very mature 6'1 190 lbs. athlete with tremendous leg speed. His hang-times have been clocked at over 5.0 seconds on punts and over 4.2 seconds on kick offs. His FG are solid, Overall, a true D1 scholarship type on KO, FG, and Punts. hand-to-toe times need to get faster on his punts FL Nebraska
8 Renfro, Nathan 210 6' 2" Nathan has a very athletic frame, Good sized athlete, he can create both big hang times and distance on his punts, Very smooth athletic steps, he has all the tools to get it done at the next level, ball jumps off his foot, has drawn interest from multiple D1 schools for good reason TN Maryland
9 Johnson, Will 195 6' 3" Will competed at the Texas Showcase Camp in Dec. of 2010, he showed a D1 leg in both kicking and punting, He was solid on his FG off the ground, could clean them up slightly but the talent is there, his punting could really make progress in college, his mis-hits are still acceptable, lots of upside in both kicking and punting TX Texas State
10 Heidari, Andre 190 5' 11" Andre is a powerful and refined kicker. He attended a small training camp so it was hard to judge how good he was until he attended the National Scholarship Camp. He was clearly the best FG kicker at camp (est. roughly 350 campers) and one of the best at KO's. Andre is extremely mentally tough. He is great on FG off the ground, able to focus, has a fast leg, hits consistent spirals as a punter, Andre was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game on ESPN by Kohl's staff. CA USC
11 Holland, Nick 200 6' 3" Showed elite talent at Underclassman Challenge.  Had many punts over 50 yards and over 4.5 seconds of hang-time.  Drop needs a little work to maximize his consistency. Has shown D1 talent, has frame and size to become good college punter, had great end to summer, leg has gotten much stronger this summer from May to July. Hit D1 balls at the National Scholarship Camp, great charts at Midwest Showcase Camp in Dec. 2010 WI Temple University
12 Rasmussen, Michael 200 6' O" Strong athlete, super impressive KO's at Kohl's New Orleans training camp, may have talent to move up in the rankings, showed good rhythm and coordination off the ground on FG, punts had consistent hang-times that were college level. A D1 prospect! FL Penn
13 Meyer, Drew 170 6' 3" Drew is a kicker/punter with D1 athleticism, plays at a dominant HS program, needs to hit more consistently to let potential show, at times has looked like a top 10 national punter, I still feel that there is more potential ahead for Drew, had a solid National Scholarship camp on FG and KO, has been dominant punter this summer at multiple Kohl's events. 14 DiPaula, Anthony 220 6' 2" Anthony attended a small training camp but showed college potential. Anthony kept us updated weekly with his punting and kicking and showed great progress. He had a huge season where he consistently hit college level punts and KO's. NJ Rutgers
15 Luepke, Sully 185 6' O" Sully has gotten technically much better this summer. He is a gamer who has shown a unique ability to hit his best ball when it counts the most. Ball really jumps off his foot. Good athlete who will continue to improve with time in college. WI Mankato State University

20 Colquitt, Greg 175 6' O" Greg attended 2 Kohl's camps this spring and showed well at both, great leg swing,, 1 of the most refined hs punters in the last couple of years, hits a consistent spiral, his motion is repeatable, college ready punter, needs to continue to get stronger, best hang-time was 4.78, has gone over 50 yards at times but then the hang is lower, a safe college punter will be able to do the little things well that a college coach will ask a punter to do, refined, had good Western Showcase Camp TN Clemson*
21 Long, Ty 175 6' 2" Ty made a 52 yard FG to win a competition at a Kohl's led camp and attended the Southern Showcase Camp in 2008. He has really improved as a combo k/p. Ty is a pure ball striker who has gotten stronger and looks like his frame can still add more strength in college. Had a real solid all around camp at Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He is one of the best combo k/p in the nation. GA UAB
22 Wedel, Tyler 175 6' 1" Tyler is a competitive athlete who has gotten much better in less than 6 months of training. He has shown a D1 leg and an ability to repeat the motion. Does need to improve his height on FG and KO's. Is a good athlete who plays QB and should continue to get better. Focus should improve as he gets more experience. 23 Benvenuto, Christian 180 6' 2" Christian is an athletic kicker/punter he can do many things very well, his ball striking skills are solid and he is an athlete that can punt with both his right and left foot when he rolls out, his ko's are solid and he should be able to compete at the college level early in his career FL Georgia State

24 O'Halloran, Brian 180 6' 1" Brian is a consistent punter, he has solid leg swing and good natural rhythm, could improve his drop to maximize his consistency, leg strength is solid, had some big punts at the National Scholarship Camp, very close to 5 star punter, a guy to watch because he has talent to move up OR
25 Yunker, Logan 195 6' 2" Logan is a solid k/p prospect, he won the punting competition at the Western Showcase Camp, explosive leg, showed 4.8 hang-times on punts, consistency in ball striking needs to improve, a college specialist who had 3 solid punting sessions at the National Camp, has college level leg strength on KO NV Nevado Reno
26 Howard, Dan 200 6' 1" Dan Howard attended the Southern Showcase Camp in Dec. of 2010, he showed D1 leg strength at times, he did struggle to turn the ball over with consistency, he is a couple of years away from being game ready but has the tools to play at a high level of football, needs to focus on punting to reach potential TX
27 LeCompte, Benjamin 185 5' 11" Ben is a solid kicker/punter, came in 2nd at the Midwest Showcase in punting, can kick and punt in college, may be a better prospect as a punter but has shown a good rhythm in kicking as well, Ben is a strong athlete that has hit some 4.8 hangs at our camps, has the talent to move up and possible become a 5 star punter, consistency will be the key IL North Dakota State
28 Fox, Anthony 190 5' 10" Anthony is a strong kicker/punter who showed good range on FG and an ability to hit some good punts, consistency on both could improve, hit some college level kicks at camp, AJ had a big season for his hs team and posted some of the best numbers in the 2011 class OH Akron
29 Jatzlau, Travis 170 5' 9" Travis has a solid National Scholarship Camp, he showed enough during the charting phase of camp to earn a 4.5 ranking, he avg. over 40 yards a punt at camp, "gamer" hits best ball when pressure is on, does not just survive, I have seen him do it multiple times, he rises up in competitions TX Prairie View A&M
30 Jones, Tanner 170 5' 10" Tanner is a powerful punter who also charted very well on FG at the Midwest Showcase camp, strength is still as a punter, he hit some punts in the 4.7-4.8 range, drop needs a little work, sometimes has an overhand drop, with technical improvement could be a big-time punter, Tanner likes to compete and finished 7th at National Scholarship Camp on FG NE Midland Luther College
31 Bons, Jake 180 6' 2" Jake has a hammer for a leg, he is an a good athlete but lacks smoothness right now, I feel he could be an excellent college punter/KO man in the future, He does need to refine his FG but has a D1 KO leg. He has the talent to play in college, needs refinement and practice hours on a field CA
32 Fennell, Jr., Todd 185 6' 2" Todd is one of the better punters in the 2011 class, hit a 60 yard 4.71 punt at S Showcase, he has a good leg swing and his leg strength has improved to the point that he can hit 4.7+ hang-times, his punting motion is repeatable, wish he would drive the ball better, QB is all around good athlete FL University of Florida*
33 Howell, Alexander 189 6' 4" Alex won the Underclassman Challenge in the FG portion. He also made 9-10 FG at the Southern Showcase Camp. Alex is a very smooth kicker off the ground. He uses his 6'4 body to create good leverage. His KO's are solid for his age level, his strength is his repeatable motion, very smooth and won the Under Classman Challenge, good pressure kicker, Punting has improved, would have finished higher at national camp had hand-to-toe times been faster SC Boston College

37 Parent, Oleg 155 5' 11" Oleg has a 5 star leg. The ball jumps off his foot both as a punter and a kicker. His ability to create leg speed is solid. 38 Selita, Kris 170 6' 1" Kris had a solid National Scholarship Camp. He finished 20th on KO and 22nd on FG. I feel he could do better on his KO's with an improvement in his stepping pattern. He may have the natural talent to move up in the rankings. Has a good frame to work with, D1 talent, drives punts very well, needs more hang on punts. MI Jacksonville State

43 Van Ginkel, Jake 180 6' O" Jake has had an impressive HS career, he hit 57 and 58 yard FG in same game. Jake is a very smooth athlete and made 9 of 10 FG at the Western Spring Showcase Camp in May of 2008. He did lack hang-time on his KO's. Have not seen Jake in awhile so he may be a better prospect than the last time we saw him. Jake is also a coordinated athlete who can punt well. CA Boise State

45 Morgan, Johnathan "Lee" 165 6' 2" Lee has the talent to be a top 10 kicker. He made a 65 yard FG at a Kohl's training camp. He does need to work on his FG off the ground. His KO and FG at the National Scholarship camp were solid despite a minor injury. He has shown big-time potential and is someone to watch as the season goes on, also could develop into a very good punter based on camp charts FL UCF *
46 Platner, David 170 6' O" David showed college potential at multiple events, the National Scholarship Camp he finished 23rd overall in punting, he hits a consistent ball and could improve in the next couple of years with strength gains in the weight room, currently has more of a kicker frame but is a good competitor, had good hand-to-toe times at camp which helped his charts MN Minnesota*

52 Bertolet, Taylor 165 5' 9" Has the talent to compete with anyone in the nation, FG range is as good as anyone in the 2011 class, gets great height on his FG, decent college potential as a punter, has gotten better on FG accuracy, Strongest KO leg in the nation, huge KO's 4.2's that go over 80, competitive, was selected by Kohl's to play in the Under Armour All-American game on ESPN. 59 Bisek, Zach 180 6' 4" Zach is a tall explosive punter who hit some impressive punts at the Midwest Showcase Camp in Dec. of 2010, he does need to work on refining his technique but has college level tools to work with, could develop into an excellent punter in college WI

61 Krupka, Adrian 170 6' 2" Adrian showed alot of promise at the National Scholarship Camp, he finished 37th in punting and charted well enough to earn a 4.5 rating at camp FL Northern State University
62 Kreckler, Colton 210 6' O" Colton had a good National Scholarship Camp by finishing 48th on KO and 85th on FG, he also finished 38th overall in punting, he is a solid combo k/p WI Concordia St. Paul
63 Adams, Ryan 190 6' 1" Ryan has a college leg, the ball explodes off his foot, solid athletic frame, can k/p in college, ball striking needs to improve, hits a lot of balls thin, when he does connect he is one of the best in the nation, good athlete, has competed at many events, strength is his KO potential OH SE Louisiana

75 Zalewski, Taylor 195 6' 3" Taylor has become a complete kicker.
