2012 Punters National Rating System

06/01/12 - This is the 1st of 3 rankings Kohl's will do this year. We only evaluate campers that we have personally seen at a Kohl's camp. In order to assure yourself a ranking you must attend a Kohl's Showcase camp or the Scholarship camp. When ranking we ask the question, "If there was a college game today, is this athlete ready to help a college team win?". We look at the camp charts and take into account the different conditions at each camp. We also look strongly at how an athlete performs in drill work when they know they are being evaluated and graded. We see how they handle pressure and react in the camp competitions. We see certain athletes multiple times a year and try to grade them on their average performance. RANKINGS NOTE: Kohl's sees more athletes than anyone else in America at our 105 events. There may be over 200 Kohl's high school seniors playing college football next season. There are many good prospects at the 4.0 and 4.5 star levels that will start in college in the future.

3 Bell, Devon 185 6' 3" Devon has attended multiple Kohl's camps and has one of the top 5 legs in the nation, has hit huge KO's and punts, 80 yard KO/5 second hangs on punts, needs to refine his technique to become a complete specialist, upside is huge for Devon, special talent one of the most explosive athletes we have seen. 4 Durkee, Korey 204 6' 4" Korey has a great frame to build strength on, he has a smooth repeatable form on FG's, he showed well on FG's by making 7 at the 2010 December Western Showcase, his KO steps need to become more consistent which will greatly help improve his distance and consistency, punting potential is very good, hands and rhythm need to improve, showed very well at the UC Challenge in both kicking and punting, hit very well at the Western Showcase Camp in Dec of 2011 WA U of Washington
5 Myer, Bryant 175 5' 11" Bryant won the National Scholarship camp in punting, the lefty's brother has started at Va Tech on KO for 4 years, big-time leg and the drop is getting more consistent, good on KO's as well PA Committed to College Soccer

8 Appleby, Joshua 235 6' 3" Josh is a big athlete, looks like a college TE, he won the KO competition at the S Showcase camp, showed good rhythm in his kicking, needs to get more consistent on KO's, college punter in the making, hands are getting better, Good athlete, ball exploded off his foot at Southern Showcase in 2011, best looking athlete in class, may be too muscle bound right now to make his motion repeatable AL Louisville
9 Hawkins, Ryan 185 5' 11" Ryan hit 65 yard FG at AZ training camp and was in a class by himself at the Western Showcase camp, KO are huge, kicks well off the ground and should be a D1 scholarship guy, huge FG range, punting has gotten much better, still needs some refining but graded out as a 5 star punter at the National Scholarship camp in 2011, good mind set, confident and very talented AZ Northern Arizona

19 Ferguson, Luke 180 6' O" Luke has one of the stronger legs in the 2012 class, showed very well on KO's at the National Scholarship Camp on KO's, also has strong college potential as a punter, needs to work on flexibility as a punter, has strong leg, KO/P combo could be scary good if punting can continue to progress, FG looked great at the Texas Showcase Camp in Dec of 2011 AR Arkansas State
20 McMorrow, Seamus 180 6' O" Seamus has attended multiple Kohl's training events. His latest was in August of 2011. He is a D1 specialist. His kicking is slightly ahead of his punting, but his punting has rapidly improved, Seamus made a 58 yard FG in a game last season, His KO's are generally 70 yards with 4 seconds of hang-time, has top 10 talent in the nation, would like to see him compete head to head to move into top 10 range, someone to watch for, a top CA k/p prospect, ball really jumps off his foot, great potential CA San Diego State
21 Figenshaw, Joe 210 6' 2" Joe has good timing and natural rhythm, his mis-hits hit the outside of his foot, college potential as a punter, finished 10th overall at the National Scholarship Camp in 2010, Joe showed well in Dec of 2010, sets the ball nicely on his punts, "A" ball is about 50 yards 4.5 hang, graded out at the 5 star level at the National Scholarship Camp, looked consistent in July and Dec 2011 TX Texas State*
22 Umeh, Osborn 210 6' 2" Osborn competed at the Western Showcase camp in May of 2011, he showed nice refinement in his punting skills, almost every ball was a spiral, it was just a matter o f having the ball turn over or not, he hit multiple 4.9 second hang-times at camp and was in a class by himself at this event, seems to love punting and will work at perfecting his craft CA

25 Sunanon, Aleem 178 5' 9" Aleem has attended multiple Kohl's events and shown tremendous heart and competitiveness, finished 18th at National Scholarship Camp on KO, he is a competitor, a college level k/p, one of the best hs drops in punting that I have seen, hit consistent 4.0-4.1 hang-times on his kick offs, his "A" ball in punting and kick offs are more impressive than on his FG off the ground, smooth rhythm on his FG, will make everything inside of 50 yards away, someone to watch for in the 2012 class, fg range is at 4.5 level, but KO and Punts are at the 5.0 level, ability to focus and compete are at the 5.0 star level FL University of South Alabama

28 Joyce, Kale 190 6' O" Kale is a strong punter who competed at the Mountain Showcase Camp in Denver, his charts were outstanding and his focus and drive is that of a D1 punter, he made an impression in his first Kohl's camp and has the tools to punt at a high level in college KS

55 Bostrom, Brian 185 6' 1" Brian showed well at Western Showcase Camp, He has good leg strength and a lot of potential, he needs to show better consistency in his FG's in order to move up the rankings, his punting is right at the college level already, has good hands, coordination is solid, showed well at the UC Challenge, put up good #'s at the National Scholarship Camp in July of 2011 CA San Jose State, UC Davis Offers

60 Boy, Alex 195 6' 3" Alex is a D1 talent. His frame and leg speed is outstanding. He does lack consistency on his ball striking to be one of the top guys in the 2012 class. His ball flight at times is very erratic, at other times he seems to have good control. He seems to handle pressure well and perform well in stressful conditions.
