Gotwalt had an excellent showing at the 2024 Kohl's Texas Fall Ranking Event. It was his first ranking evaluation, and he competed well in all three categories. He showcased above average leg speed and coordination at camp. He scored 5 points in the field goal charting and produced a kickoff score of 95.25 points, which includes a big ball of 61 yards with 3.46 seconds of hang time. He flashed strong potential in the punt charting and connected with a big ball of 51 yards with 4.09 seconds of hang time.
