Merritt recently competed at the 2024 Kohl's Texas Winter Showcase, scoring 6 points on field goals. He earned an overall kickoff score of 89.60, with his standout ball reaching 60 yards and a hang time of 2.96 seconds. Merritt showed solid skills and has room for growth as a specialist. Merritt came out to the 2024 Kohl's Texas Showcase Camp in May. He scored 6 points on field goal charting and 91.65 points on kickoffs. Merritt showed poise during drill work and hit some clean rotating kicks throughout the day. Merritt's big kickoff measured 57 yards with 3.57 seconds of hang time. Continued efforts focused on some technical tweaks will contribute to Merritt's growth over his senior season. Merritt recently competed at the 2024 Kohl's Future Stars Invitational. He showed improved command of his "A" ball in the field goal portion of camp. He scored 5 points in the charting and connected with several well struck footballs during the drill work. His overall score on kickoffs was 91.90 which includes a big ball of 59 yards with 3.40 seconds of hang time. Merritt competed at the 2023 Kohl's Texas Winter Showcase. He showed good body control throughout the field goal session putting up 4 points. During the kickoff charting, Merritt was able to show his leg strength sending a majority of his balls 65+ yards, with his standout ball measuring a distance of 70 yards with a hang time of 3.33 seconds. Merritt has the leg talent to compete at the next level, it will be fun to watch his development over the next year.
