    Kohl's Comments

Rodriguez recently attended the 2017 Future Stars event in Atlanta, GA. He showed good repeatability during the kick off portion of camp. With continued work on his leg strength he will do some special things at the high school level.

I got interested in becoming a kicker two summers ago. One day while I was kicking soccer balls at my school's football field I startled the football coach when I struck the goal post with a ball. As he approached the field asking who had done that, all my friends pointed at me thinking I would get in trouble. Instead, the coach asked me if I had thought about kicking footballs and trying out for the kicker position. I didn't hesitate; I knew I had a strong kicking leg thanks to all my years of soccer training including two years in the local United States Soccer Developmental Academy. Once I started kicking the football, I was hooked. It became a challenge- I wanted to kick it farther and farther each time. Now I am just finishing my second season as my high school's kicker/punter and I can truly say I have developed a passion for the sport. I have also realized I can remain calm under pressure and focus on kicking the football accurately when the game is on the line. Last year, my first season, I was trusted to kick a 30 yard field goal to tie our regional qualifier game with 24 seconds left; it split the uprights. I can't wait to continue to learn and grow as an athlete on the football field at the college level. Hudl account: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/62...
