Kohl's Comments

Hopkins recently attended Kohl's National Scholarship Camp in July of 2020 and did well. He is a very talented prospect who is showing that he has the right tools to compete at the college level. Hopkins also had multiple good showings in June of 2020. He has worked hard on developing his punting ability and he saw a nice return on all of his hard work at camp. His field goals and kickoffs were solid and he has officially developed into one of the more talented combo prospects in his class!

Athlete Bio

Collyn Hopkins, a soccer player since the age of six years old, has brought his powerful strike to the football field. After winning third in the Illinois class 3A state finals for soccer as a freshman and being added to the All-State watch list, he found love for the game of football while training in the off-season. He quickly became the starting Varsity kicker his sophomore year having all his hard work pay off. He turned to Kohl's kicking camps after his sophomore season to hone in his skills and get training on the next level. He has progressively gotten better with every training session and every camp he has attended. He is able to consistently kick 60+ yard kick off’s and perfecting his consistency on field goals from anywhere on the field. In December 2018 Collyn attended the Kohl's National Ranking Camp in Chicago, where earned a 4 1/2 star national ranking, based on his consistent FGs and 60+ yrd KOs. Collyn has managed with hard work, while playing multiple sports on a high level to maintain a 4.0 G.P.A. through is sophomore year. The summer of 2019 he has taken on a new challenge to learn the art of punting, and with training has progressively gotten better. In June 2019 Collyn received an invite to Kohl's National Scholarship Camp and was very excited to attend. After being named Special Teams Player of the Year his Junior season, Collyn looked forward to demonstrating his talents at the Kohl s Midwest Winter Showcase. At the conclusion of this camp, Collyn was selected for the Underclassman Challenge an invite only camp for the most elite specialist in the country. He now has set new goals and looks to have an ALL-Star showing in January 2020 at the Underclassman Challenge. He has been training hard all year round and looks forward to the upcoming camps with Kohl's where he looks to better his national ranking as a 2021 graduate. We are all looking forward to great things from this athlete as he looks forward to finding a great college home where he can play football and excell on an academic level.
