National Signing Day: Class of 2021
Today marks the start of the the regular signing period in college football. Over the next few days, some prospects will officially sign their letter of intent and set their football future in stone.
Drew’s football kicking career began in the Spring of 2020 as a sophomore. A standout soccer player and team captain, his kicking power and accuracy was immediately recognized by members of the football coaching staff attending playoff soccer games the previous Fall. The Special Teams and Head coaches invited Drew to an informal kickaround and his football potential was obvious. The staff built a tailored off-season training program that put him on the field two days a week. Hard work, practice, and great coaching earned Drew the starting Varsity kicker position. He opened with two touchbacks in week one and was 3/4 on recovered onside kicks during the Fall 2020 season. After a successful first year and strong feedback from the coaching staff and his teammates, Drew was extremely motivated to improve his kicking skills. A new offseason training regimen built around specialized weight training, national kicking camps, and 1:1 workouts with high school coaches will accelerate his development. The new plan balances competitive club soccer, part time employment, and a commitment to education excellence focused on maintaining a 4.0 GPA through graduation.
