Kohl's Comments

Crabtree competed at the 2024 Kohl's Senior Challenge. He has Power 5 leg speed and was excellent once again competing at all three disciplines. He scored 108.20 in cold conditions and produced a big ball of 73 yards with 3.57 of hang time. He scored 111 in the final kickoff competition and showed elite talent in his kickoffs. He scored 4/10 in the field goal charting and ended up charting a big ball in the punt charting of 46 yards with 4.33 seconds of hang time. Crabtree attended Showcase Camp in the winter of 2023. He was able to earn a rating of 5-stars through his strong charts and drill work performance. He scored 12/15 points on field goals, 113.9 points on kick offs, and 102.18 points in punting. His biggest kick off was a 75-yard kick that had 3.89 seconds of hang-time. His best punt traveled 55 yards and had 4.21 seconds of hang-time. Crabtree also competed at the 2023 Kohl's March ranking event. He once again flashed excellent leg speed and power on his ball striking. He scored a big ball of 74 yards with 3.45 seconds of hang time in the kickoff portion of camp and was able to connect on 4 points in the field goal charting.

Athlete Bio

My name is Ethan Crabtree. I am the youngest of four boys from a small town in Southern Ohio just two counties from where Joe Burrow grew up. My family has traditionally been a soccer family as two of my brothers had successful high school careers in the sport. We all started playing soccer by the age of three. However, when I was in jr high, I met the high school football team kicker. He became my mentor even after he went off to kick at Robert Morris University. Every time he came home he would work with me and encourage me. Kickers are unheard of at the jr high level but my soccer coach and the football coach worked together and allowed me to play both sports. I continued to play both sports my freshman year of high school. My sophomore year, I gave up soccer to focus on kicking full time. The extra time was used in the weight room and training outside of regular practices.

In addition to kicking, I play tennis and made it to the district finals as a freshman. I am president of my class and a member of Student Council, Student Health Council, Interact, Youth Leadership Association (YLA), Youth in Government, and the Leos. I am a member of the choir and have participated in drama. I am currently working on a project to provide shoes to needy children in our area.
