    Kohl's Comments

Schrom recently attended the 2019 Spring Texas Showcase Camp. He had another solid camp and showed that he is working to maximize his talents as a specialist. Schrom attended the Kohl's 2019 Future Stars Event at IMG Academy. He continues to show improvement with his technique and this upcoming off-season will allow him to really fine tune and maximize his potential as a specialist. Schrom attended the Texas Showcase camp in December of 2018. He did some impressive things during the field goal drill work portion of camp. Schrom has a strong leg and if he can continue to refine his technique in order for his "A" ball to show up, he will continue to move up in the rankings. He hit a 61 yard kick off during the charting phase of camp.

    Athlete Bio

My name is Jackson Schrom. I am in the middle of my Senior year and will be graduating this coming June. I am currently the varsity kicker for John Paul Stevens High School (6A-29) located in San Antonio, Texas.

I finished my Senior year with a 7-5 record and our team made it to the 3rd round of the State Playoffs losing to Westlake. I was 7 for 8 on field goals this past season with my only miss being in the 2nd round of the playoffs. I was 39 for 40 my Senior year on PATs. Over the course of my Junior and Senior years playing varsity football, I was 62 of 64 with both misses being blocked PATs. At one point, I had made 61 straight PATs. I am averaging 33.2 yards per punt off of 57 punts my Senior season. I was also selected by Kohl's Kicking as one of the Week 10 National Performers, which gives me two of these honors in the last two years!!

I got interested in football when my family moved here from Salt Lake City in the summer of 2015. I have been playing soccer since the age of four and never thought about football until the end of my 7th grade year attending Vale Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. I was in Athletics period when a bunch of my friends and I were throwing and kicking the football. The football coach saw me kick the football and asked if I had ever played football before. I told him no and he asked me to come out for 8th grade football the next school year. I played that season and fell in love with the sport. I have not stopped playing football ever since.

My goal is to play in the NFL. If the NFL does not pan out then I want to be a business entrepreneur and/or be a sports commentator/analyst; however, in order to get there I must excel in college on and off the field.

My Head Coach is Coach Boykin and his email is Anthony.boykin@nisd.net. My position coach is Coach Britt and his email is Andrew.britt@nisd.net. You can reach both at the school main number (210) 397-6450. My district recruiting coordinator is Coach Prince and his number is (210) 488-3287.
