The legacy of Kohl's athletes in the NFL Draft has historically been strong, and 2019 was no different.
Kohl's CommentsBaughey recently attended the 2018 Midwest Winter Showcase Camp. He showed solid technique for a younger athlete and the next few years of strength training and conditioning should help his explosiveness. He scored 2 points in the field goal charting and was able to chart a big ball of 41 yards with 2.99 seconds of hang time.
I just started kicking during the 8th grade season, but fell in love with the position and my team at that point. During that initial season I worked on the craft with the varsity kicker and earned the spot the following year (2018) as Freshman. In 2018 I saw significant play time scoring 42 PAT’s for the season with a short run in the MHSAA playoffs. My head coach has a wide playbook for kick-offs including deep, squibs, on-sides, etc. This challenged me and allowed me to learn more from the team and coaches. I was honored with the Special Teams Player of the Year award and look forward to contributing more this season.
My interests involve other sports such as basketball and spending time on the lake with family and friends. I hope to pursue a degree in medicine and go into the medical field as an anesthesiologist. I currently hold a 3.7 GPA and will be taking a challenging AP course load in 2019.
I can’t thank my team and my coaches enough for the support and guidance they have provided, and can’t wait for the coming seasons in high school. Distance and accuracy have improved significantly thanks to the off season training and Kohl’s camps, as well as the additional weight/strength through year long athletic conditioning.
