    Kohl's Comments

Cullen has attended previous camps with the most recent being the National Scholarship Camp in July of 2017. He continues to show an impressive leg with his kicking. His repeatability is consistent enough to be ranked at the next level but he has the tools to match some of the athletes ranked higher. He should be able to improve and move up in future rankings. Cullen recently attended the 2017 Midwest Showcase Camp. He displayed college level ability in his Kickoffs and field goals. He charted 6 made kicks in the field goal portion of camp and averaged 64.5 yards per kickoff. He has good natural rhythm and tempo through contact.

    Other Sports & Activities

    • Track, Pole vault, 2016 PB 12.5 feet
    • Weight lifting, Max squat 335#, max bench 240#
    • Stillwater Wind Ensemble- percussion section
    • Soccer, 2010-2015, St. Croix Soccer Association

It’s senior night in Pony Stadium against Forest Lake. I started the game with a kickoff to the one yard line. The defense held them and we got the ball back.  We drove down the field but got stalled at the 13 yard line. The coach called upon me to put up the first points of the game; my adrenaline was pumping and as a junior, I didn't want to let the seniors down. It was a 30 yard field goal; the snap comes, the ball is placed and it’s straight up and through. As I watched the ball, I knew that whatever happened, my team would have my back and I would be ready the next time the coach called my number. Playing football and being a kicker has taught me that you can’t live in the past because everybody is going to have a bad play here and there; you have to move forward, learn from your mistakes, and get better.

When I was young, I started playing soccer. I enjoyed the competition and being a physical player.  Then I developed the desire to play football because of the physicality and camaraderie of the game.  From my soccer experience, I had a talent for kicking and started to develop my skills.  I enjoy kicking, the challenge, and the thrill of accomplishment.  My goal is to be the starting kicker for a college football team someday.  In college, I am interested in studying engineering since I have a passion for math and science. I am good at academic problem solving, and similarly I want to be part of the solution for a winning football team.
