Herring came out to the 2024 Kohl's National Scholarship Camp. He had a good showing at his first ranking event. Herring scored 16 points on field goals and showed smooth mechanics throughout the weekend. Herring scored 88.82 points on kickoff charting with a big ball of 64 yards with 3.37 seconds of hang time. Herring scored 82.66 points on punt charting and 4 points on rollouts. His best punt traveled 40 yards with 3.93 seconds of hang time.
